NRLA publishes 2021 4th quarter landlord confidence research - says confidence amongst private landlords has risen

Concentrating on accessibility, safety and standards the NRLA's In Focus quarterly PRS report claims that landlord business confidence has risen across England and Wales (overall, for the 5th consecutive quarter) and in a higher number of regions than previously.
The report notes that lack of accessibility adaptations in PRS properties remains a widespread problem but that this can, in part, be put down to lack of awareness amongst landlords and, in some cases, also tenants (who would benefit from some form of adaptation being installed) about the availability of funding for property adaptations via the Disabled Facilities Grant scheme.
Of concern for the government, the research shows that 33% of private landlords
believe that they will not be able to comply with the requirement to have their properties EPC rating C compliant by 2028 and that 45% of landlords do not expect to achieve compliance for at least 1 of their (multiple) properties by the target date.
