£150m safer streets fund 4th bidding round opened to help tackle neighbourhood crime and anti social behaviour - an opportunity for councils, police and civil groups where selective licensing in place

The Home Office has announced the opening of the 4th round bidding process for access to the £150 million safer streets fund. Access to this round of bidding is open to police & crime commissioners, Local Authorities, British Transport Police and "Eligible Civil Society Organisations".

Violence against women and girls and Anti social behaviour are primary targets of this round of funding and any scheme must use any funds from a winning bid by March 2023. These funds can be particularly useful for areas subject to selective licensing as a licensed area is a specific designated area within a borough (a necessary qualification for bid eligibility) but can also give local communities agency in designing a project proposal that suits the community because the funds - maximum individual bid is £750,000 - are also open to civil society groups (eligible charitable organisations) who are advised to partner in their bid with other local civil society groups. The bidding prospectus can be accessed here.
