Letting agents urged to act now following announcement that the Govt plans new laws requiring the installation of carbon monoxide alarms in all rental properties with fixed combustion appliances not just solid fuel appliances.

31st January 2022. Michael Gove MP, the Housing Secretary, to announce plans for law requiring private landlords to comply with the Decent Homes Standard and setting up a national database that all landlords must join. Rogue landlords will be expelled from the database.

Landlords renting to multiple tenants in West Bromwich will need to apply for a licence after a scheme was approved.

This will apply to areas around the high street and the centre of West Bromwich, and follows a 12-week consultation between January and April last year.
