The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has published eligibility guidance to support and encourage domestic property owners and owners of small commercial premises commissioning low carbon heating technologies, such as heat pumps, through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.

The guidance states that in terms of eligibility for a grant "commissioning" means "completion of installation and set up of the system" on or after 1st April 2022. Grants under the scheme range from £5K to £6K depending on the technology installed.
