Home office publishes fire safety guidance for people living in flats, landlords and those responsible for residential buildings
The Home Office has, in collaboration with local fire and rescue services and the national Fire Kills safety campaign, produced a safety leaflet. The leaflet supplements Govt advice contained in their main Fire Safety in the Home leaflet.
The advice contained in the leaflet covers the obligations of both private and social landlords, the relevant legislation and a person's responsibilities as a tenant or as a leaseholder as well as practical tips on how to significantly lessen the risk of fire in a flat and increase the level of safety of the occupants.
The leaflet is easily downloadable and can be used by landlords as part of a tenancy pack or by local authorities as part of the information/guidance available for landlords and tenants on a local authority webpage.
