At a council cabinet meeting on 22nd March Portsmouth Council gave approval for a public consultation to be commenced on a new city wide additional licensing scheme.

The consultation is slated to start on 23rd May 2022 and will be based on the impact on tenants of poor living conditions and poor property management.

The decision also states that, should the proposed consultation not go ahead then there should be a consultation on introducing proposed updated space standards and an updated enforcement policy.
