Tenant group ACORN to hold public meeting calling for selective licensing to be put in place in more areas of Leeds

Tenant campaigning group ACORN is to hold a public meeting to which Leeds City councillors have been invited so that extension of selective licensing across more areas of the city can be put to the councillors by residents.
It's reported that the council executive has been invited as "too often [renters'] experiences go unheard and the issues renters deal with on a daily basis go unresolved."
The meeting will be held on August 24th at Denison Hall in the Armley area of the city and ACORN say that this will be an opportunity "to demonstrate that they are paying attention." The group points out that selective licensing is comparable to the licensing of taxis and hospitality venues.
