West Lindsey Council halts its selective licensing public consultation
In an 8th March licensing update West Lindsey District Council advises that it has halted its public consultation on the renewal and expansion of its recently ended selective licensing scheme. The council update says that "Further work is being undertaken to determine how the proposed scheme will proceed."
The decision to halt the consultation (which was set to run from 17th January to 11th April) was taken at a meeting of the Full Council on 7th March. The new selective licensing scheme had been scheduled to start in September 2022 and would have been larger than the previous licensing scheme which ended in July 2021.
Council leader, Cllr Owen Bierley said the vote to halt the consultation was taken to "allow for further considerations to be made into both the scheme and the consultation." Cllr Bierley also said that the scheme would be considered again at a council meeting currently scheduled for 3rd May.
