Haringey Council approves new selective licence scheme to start in autumn 2022
Subject, due to its size, to confirmation by Secretary of State Michael Gove MP, a new selective licence scheme is due to start in the London borough of Haringey in late 2022.
Following a public consultation which showed the majority of residents in the 12 wards within the area covered by the scheme were in favour of selective licensing of private rented properties being put in place, Cllr. John Bevan said "More than a third of Haringey's residents rent their home from a private landlord. The number of privately rented homes is increasing so we want to ensure that all privately rented homes are decent, safe and compliant with regulations."
