Home Office requests consultation input from private sector landlords on right to rent code amendments.

The Home Office is asking for input from private rented sector landlords and letting agents on amending the unlawful discrimination provisions in the Right to Rent Code of Practice for Landlords carrying out such right to rent checks.

Prior to the checks being brought initially the letting industry and third sector organisations had concerns that discrimination would be a problem so this is a welcome opportunity for private rented sector landlords and letting agents who carry out right to rent checks to have their say on new amendments by emailing the Home Office but the consultation closes on 25th February 2022 - so not much time.
